Revolutionary Lawyers imprisoned in Turkey are on hunger strike

Lawyers from the Office of Halkın Hukuk Bürosu (People’s Law Bureau – HHB) and the Association of Progressive Lawyers (Çağdaş Hukukçular Derneği-ÇHD) declared with a press release that they start on February 3, 2020 the hunger strike against the continuing injustice.

The Association of Progressive Lawyers (Çağdaş Hukukçular Derneği-ÇHD) issued on February 3 a press release that lawyers from Halkın Hukuk Bürosu ( People’s Law Bureau – HHB) lawyers Aycan Çiçek, Aytaç Ünsal, Barkın Timtik, Ebru Timtik, Engin Gökoğlu, Ayşegül Çağatay, Oya Aslan and also the president of the Association of Progressive Lawyers (Çağdaş Hukukçular Derneği-ÇHD) Selçuk Kozağaçlı have started an indefinite hunger strike.

Lawyers from the Office of Halkın Hukuk Bürosu (People’s Law Bureau – HHB) and the Association of Progressive Lawyers (Çağdaş Hukukçular Derneği-ÇHD) are particularly well known for defending revolutionaries, the families of the miners who died in the explosion in the Soma mine (301 dead) in 2014, the demonstrators killed during the Gezi uprising in the summer of 2013, teachers who were purged with decree-laws, and Kurdish and left-wing opponents kidnapped and/or executed by death squads.
