REVOLUTIONARY PEOPLE’S LIBERATION FRONT
PRESS BUREAU
Statement: 163; March 22, 2001
THE ENEMIES OF PEOPLE;
THOSE WHO SOLD OUR COUNTRY TO THE IMF,
THOSE WHO LEFT NOTHING TO BE SPARED FOR OUR PEOPLE,
THOSE WHO CONVERTED OUR COUNTRY INTO NAZI CONCENTRATION CAMPS,
THOSE WHO CONSIDER THE PROGRAMME OF IMPERIALISM AS NATIONALISTIC;
WE CONGRADULATE YOU, REVOLUTIONARY CENGIZ SOYDAS IS DEAD!
Our people hear the slogans of Down With IMF and Down With USA from revolutionaries for years. They said The US will bring starvation, exploitation and tyranny, it will makes us a dependent, it does not spare anything for our country and our people. They defended an independent country, democracy and socialism. For this reason they were subjected to torture, massacred and imprisoned. This war has been continuing for decades. Whatever imperialism and the oligarchy have tried, they could not succeed to destroy and wipe revolutionaries out of Turkey. Even during the conditions when our country was converted into a bloodbath through massacres and torture, they could not succeed to make revolutionaries submit them. The oligarchy in Turkey, in collaboration with imperialism, constructed the Nazi camps called F-type prisons. It wanted to isolate the captives in these camps and destroy their revolutionary beliefs. It could not achieve this.
Between December 19 and 22, 2000 massacred 28 captives, wounded and tortured hundreds of them and opened the Nazi camps.
The captives started a Death Fast action on November 19, 2000 by demanding the closure of Nazi camps, abolish the Anti-terror law, closure of the State Security Courts (The DGMs) and try of murderers and torturers. The state threw 20 thousand bombs onto the Death Fast resisters on the 60th day of their action, fired thousands of bullets, demolished 20 prisons and massacred 28 prisoners. Then they succeeded to open the F-type prisons. Their aim was to destroy the revolutionary beliefs and beliefs of those who oppose the regime by opening these F-type camps. The rulers launched a campaign of offensive against the democratic and revolutionary forces outside prisons following the massacre of prisoners. They wanted to silence almost everyone who mention the resistance and say they also have rights have been intimidated, threatened, tried and arrested.
THEY COULD NOT BREAK THE RESISTANCE OF CAPTIVES
The contra-guerrilla, the media serving for the contra-guerrilla and all the bureaucrats of the regime initiated a massive campaign of demagogy and deceit, to break the resistance.
They massacred 28 captives by claiming that they were saving lives. They wanted to break the resistance by using torture. Each cells of the Nazi camps was converted into a torture place. Everyone in the Nazi camps; torturers from JITEM (Military secret service) and special teams, prison wardens and prison directors, was mobilised. Both inside and outside the prisons were converted into torture places. All those who demand the closure of F-types were either intimidated or taken to courts.
THE RESISTANCE HAS NOT REACH AN END
They gave duties to the doctors of torturer, murderer and fascist Minister of Health, Osman Durmus. With the demagogy of saving lives hands and feet of prisoners were chained and they introduced serums by force. They would not let them die and announce to the World’s and Turkey’s people’s opinion that see, they are not dying, they are eating. This is what happened. A Death Fast resistance on its 150 days was occurring for the first time in Turkey. It has never extended this far. With this way they would convince the people more easily to make them believe that there is no deaths. All the F-type prisons and many hospitals were converted into torture houses to carry out force feeding. Tens of our people were left handicapped because of this torture of force feeding. They lost their memories and became paralyzed.
THEY COULD NOT BREAK THE RESISTANCE
With censorship, oppression and intimidation they wanted to create the impression of there is no such resistance by creating a deep silence but they could not achieved this.
The head teacher of murderers, Minister of Justice, wanted to intervene and transfer tens of prisoners who are on the verge of death just before the bayram (religious festival). With this way he was hoping to declare his victory by announcing the end of resistance to the peoples of Turkey and the rest of the World. Cengiz Soydas feel martyr during this torture of forced intervention on the 150th day of resistance in Sincan F-type Nazi camp.
There is a reality which neither the minister of justice nor his and his regime’s masters, that are imperialists, can understand. THIS COUNTRY IS OURS AND WE ARE THE PEOPLE. Those who are struggling for the liberation of their country and their people could never be intimidated and left their causes because of the oppression of tyrants. The imperialists which supervise this rule, keep secret the fact that they have always being defeated by the struggle of the people. For this reason they tell lies. Self-sacrifice and courage do not exist in the culture of imperialists and their collaborators. Having no beliefs, treason, opportunism, exploitation and tyranny are their culture. Therefore they think that they can make people to abandon their causes by using oppression and fear or, if this does not work, they try to buy them.
Cengiz Soydas was one of those who did not abandon his cause because of the oppression and torture of imperialism and its collaborators. He was a heroic son of our people. He welcomed death together with his hundreds of comrades. He did not live for himself but for his people and his country. He sacrificed himself for Turkey free of the IMF, where there is no hunger and poverty, for Turkey where Nazi camps do not exist and for independent, democratic and socialist Turkey. They are in thousands and they will be tens of thousands and hundreds of thousands. They will grow in each square metre of soil of this country. And they will reply with the necessary response to those who try to put the imperialist culture in power, which destroys whatever left in this country that, belongs to us. Everyone will realise that neither massacres nor Nazi camps will make them achieve anything.
CENGIZ SOYDAS DIED TO KEEP ALIVE. In our country even a basic right can not be possessed without paying heavy costs. This regime which became the servant of imperialism has nothing to do with justice and democracy. It only brings about starvation and tyranny. In our country where starvation and tyranny exist, rights and liberties can only be gained by paying heavy costs. If these costs are not encountered, the regime will continue to mess with the people and destine them to hunger by playing the democracy game.
Struggle against Nazi camps is struggle against the IMF, which condemn our people to starvation and tyranny. It is a struggle against this fascist regime which has no other interest but the interests of imperialism and its collaborators and it is the same regime abolishing all the rights and liberties. No matter what the reason is, those who do not see this reality and those who do not want to see it, are those who have expectations from this fascist regime.
CENGIZ SOYDAS DIED TO KEEP ALIVE. There are tens more like Cengiz Soydas. They are in their bed to face death. None of tortures and forced interventions can prevent the victory of resistance.
Those who say life first and life is sacred must show first how to defend this life. The F-types are projects of imperialists. Those who do not oppose F-type prisons and support the resistance of captives are defending the policies of tyranny of the IMF. Everything is very clear now. No one can hide themselves behind masks. Those who claim that they are opposing the IMF must stand by the resistance of captives. There is no mid-way. The mid-way is the area where imperialists carry out maneuvers to deceit prisoners and the people. And therefore there is no mid-way. There is no solution in escaping. Those who oppose the IMF and starvation and tyranny must stand by the resistance against the F-type prisons.
The resistance will continue despite the costs of tens of martyrs and hundreds of injured. No one should dream of if we wait, if we intervene by force, if we leave them handicapped the resistance will end. The resistance will continue.
Today, when Cengiz Soydas sacrificed himself, is the day when everyone must reexamine himself / herself and look again at the future.

This power is belong to us.
This power is belong to our martyrs. We learned from them how to engrave the name of hope on the walls. We learned from them how to prevent death becoming a weapon on the hands of enemy and how to challenge the tyrants.
