THE REVOLUTIONARY POLITICAL PRISONERS ARE OUR HONOUR, LET’S ADVOCATE FOR THEM!

LET US TAKE ALİ OSMAN KÖSE OUT FROM THE CELLS OF FASCISM!

The fascist power of AKP continues to show its character as a mass murderer in prisons, by not releasing seriously ill political prisoners. It continues to pursue the policy of imperialism for isolation and silent liquidation, with all its aggressiveness. Although the revolutionary political prisoner Ali Osman Köse, due to his health problems, could not take care of himself, and although even under the own laws of the fascist power it was proved that he could no longer be kept in prison, his release is prevented.

The fascist power of the AKP is trying to kill another revolutionary, a seriously ill political prisoner who she was not able to force to surrender. This is all he experiences in short.

Ali Osman Köse, a revolutionary who dedicated his 63-year life to the liberation of the peoples of Turkey and the world, was imprisoned while fighting for an independent, democratic and socialist country, spending 37 years of his life in prison.

He has been subjected to many different forms of torture. He spent more than 10 years in the prisons of the fascist military junta that came to power after the coup of September 12, 1980. From 1994 until today, his captivity continues without interruption. Since 2000 he has been kept in the cells of the F-type isolation prisons, in conditions of aggravated isolation. As punishment for his lifelong revolutionary activities for failing to make him bow his head to imperialism and fascism, the fascist power sentenced Ali Osman Köse to life imprisonment.

37 years of captivity and a 63-year life. Military operations aimed at committing massacres, tortures, internment, hunger strikes, resistance, F-type cells, all policies of attack which are based on isolation and silent liquidation. No matter how good a person is in health when he is imprisoned, to go through all this during these long years, means to get many diseases. This also applies to Ali Osman Köse, who is already a seriously ill political prisoner whose health problems have taken on life-threatening proportions. His health problems speak for themselves:

-Hypertension

-Hemorrhoids

-Muscular and joint pain

-Complete hearing loss in one ear

-Noise in the ears

-Clogging of arteries

-Stomach problems

-Visual problems caused by constant isolation.

These are just some of the diseases that Ali Osman Köse suffers from.

Ali Osman Köse has hypertension and has many medicines that he must take every day. He suffers from serious health problems, which over the past year have caused him a temporary loss of consciousness and memory, preventing him from moving and eating on his own, and bringing him to the brink of death. If he does not take his medicines, this means that he may lose his life. Also, weight loss, weakened immunity, chronic diseases, and the growing coronavirus pandemic, pose an even more serious threat to the life of Ali Osman Köse.

Despite the actions taken by his lawyers, although some check-ups have been carried out, Ali Osman Köse still does not have the necessary conditions to receive adequate treatment for his needs. In other words, he has not yet been released. At the same time, medical reports and the country’s laws require the government to do so.

Our experience and the examples we have witnessed so far show that the AKP government has never released political prisoners voluntarily and on its own. Decisions that must be taken by health care institutions, the Institute of Forensic Medicine, and the courts are not taken following scientific and health standards and of their own free will. These decisions are becoming a reality as a result of our struggle and our advocacy. To stand up for revolutionary political prisoners is to stand up for our honor and traditions.

To stand up for our sick political prisoners, to get them out of the clutches of fascism by enabling them to live, and to create the conditions for them to regain their health. These are some of the most important tasks, that we can accomplish with our people.

LET’S GET ALİ OSMAN KÖSE OUT OF THE CELLS OF FASCISM!

WE APPEAL TO THE INSTITUTE OF FORENSIC MEDICINE, THE MINISTRY OF JUSTICE, AND THE AKP GOVERNMENT:

WE WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO KILL ALİ OSMAN KÖSE!

ALİ OSMAN KÖSE CANNOT BE KEPT IN PRISON BECAUSE HE CANNOT TAKE CARE OF HIMSELF!
