Two women Front fighters raked the brain of the riot police.
On October 18, 2015, death squads raided a home in the poor Istanbul neighborhood of Küçük Armutlu. The young female worker Dilek Doğan, who opposed the fascist murderers who were armed to the teeth, saying, “You can’t enter in our house like this, wear overshoes,” was killed in her own home before the eyes of her family. About 4 months later, death squads killed young worker Yilmaz Öztürk. They shot him on the street while he was returning to his home.
On March 3, 2016, two female fighters on the Revolutionary People’s Liberation Front (DHKC), named Berna Yilmaz and Çiğdem, in order to account for the killings of Dilek Doğan and Yilmaz Öztürk, carried out an armed attack on the headquarters of the Riot Police Squad(Rapid Response Unit) of the Istanbul Police Directorate, located in the Bayrampaşa distric, Istanbul. After they attacked the building, using sub-machine guns and grenades, they retreat to a building in the near by area, where they were besieged by police, Bern and Çiğdem, martyred in a shootout with police SWAT teams.
A statement released by the Revolutionary People’s Liberation Front (DHKC) after the action included the fallowing sentences:
“The quality and the power of an armed action is in its content. The flag of justice will be take on by new fighters for justice! New justice fighters are going to carry the banner of justice. The justice fighters will be present where there is no justice!”
